It's coming!!

Are you as excited for the 2012 Olympic Games as I am?!!
I sure hope so.

I am so excited that I forced strongly suggested that my FHE team make this cake:

We won for the most perfect cake!

If you're wondering what those little things are on the left side,
they're gold, silver, and bronze gummy bears on winners platform. :)

When the going gets tough...

...go to your parents house. Duh.

That is, if this is this is within reason, which it is for me.

On Tuesday evening, I noticed that it was rather warm in my house and after using some deductive reasoning (the temperature was 86 degrees), I concluded that the A/C was broken.

Today was the 4th of July (yay!), which means that all the A/C men will be with their fams and I'll be spending at least another night at the parents' casa, which is totally fine because:

a. I like my family

2. My roomie is out of town so I would've been home alone
(and I'm not sure I have any Kevin McCallister-like skills)

d. The glow-in-the-dark stars in my old bedroom still glow!! (mounted circa 1998)

Inception

I'm not really sure why I resisted watching Inception for so long, but it's probably because nobody could tell me what it was about.  Anyway, I saw it for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it
(and the burrito from the Burrito Shack I devoured while watching it).

Then last night as I was dreaming, I totally had a dream within a dream.

I was a little weirded out when I woke up (or did I?),
but I found comfort in knowing that I hadn't gotten down to the third level.

Happy

Below are a few of the things that made me happy today:

This green light (which means our internet is working again)...

...so I can watch an entire episode of Psych with Shawn wearing a green shirt
without it freezing/going berserk on Hulu+...

...while wearing my new green basketball shorts that I don't ever want to take off.

That's as far as I think I can take the green theme.
But that doesn't mean you should stop scrolling here.

There are pictures in some of our frames now!

I was afraid that they'd all look like this forever.

 Jen threw away her jeans!

This is a very happy thing because all her jeans had holes in the crotch
for the past month. :/

I had my first meal at YC's Mongolian grill with some great friends.

I started reading this book. This makes my nerdy teacher self happy.

I can't wait to see what makes me happy tomorrow. :)

Hello Spinsterhood

I recently had a dream that I was on a first date.  Everything was going fine until I accidentally kicked my date where it counts. Really bad.  After purchasing some ice from a nearby restaurant, I noticed that there was a Bahama Bucks right next door and regretted not getting the ice there.  When I brought the ice to my date, the store employee commented, "So you're the one that did this to him.  I guess that's the end of whatever relationship you had."

The Aftermath

Going on a vacation to Europe was great, don't get me wrong. But, coming home has been harder than expected.  Not only am I daydreaming of being back where the thermostat doesn't comprehend 100 degrees or higher, but I'm also nightdreaming of sleeping in past 6am. I'm not getting back into this whole Arizona time zone thing very well.
According to this picture, it should have been easier for me to adjust traveling west.  I don't believe it.

Today I couldn't fight 4:30am.  I've been all over the internet, trying to pass the time until I can go get started with my day.  I'm not a big fan of people complaining about things online, but I can't help it much when I am denied my precious sleep time (complaining again).

During the time that I have slept, I have managed to have a few dreams.  Two of them were short and involved being back in Austria. Here is the other one:

I was up in P-town visiting my friend Lydia, who apparently wasn't married to her husband yet. We went over to her guy friend's house. The tall, strapping, young lad escorted us with me on one arm and Lydia on the other.  His married brother showed up and we walked into a Sunday School class together.  My uncle was there and saw me with the two fine-looking men and commented, "If only your dad were here to see this."  Then, sure enough, my dad was there.  He gave the opening prayer.  The whole prayer was about me and how glad that he was for his daughter to be in the presence of the opposite sex.  Beyond embarrassed. The class started and we had a great lesson.  Then the teacher explained that he had scheduled for us to watch a movie at a certain time, but we had to wait about 20 minutes.  In the meantime, I busted out a game for us to play.  It was one of my favorite games-Likewise.
(Don't be fooled by the picture.  The game no longer comes with erasers or cute faces on the paddles.  Very disappointing, I know.  Still, it's a great game.)

We had a great time playing and someone pointed out that the two brothers that I had arrived with were gone.  It turned out that they thought they were too cool for games.  Which means that they were not cool enough for me.  I guess my uncle and dad got all worked up over nobody special.
